DESIGN GUIDELINES
Please Follow these Guidelines to Design Your Slunks:
If you are designing on your own we ask that you use Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop, preferably Illustrator. These programs are the industry standard for mass printing. Working in these programs will ensure that we have a quick and easy transition to the final product.
When working in these programs please work in CMYK color mode, not RGB. CMYK color mode is for physical prints and RGB color mode is when you are making a project to only be viewed on a screen.
This file is setup nearly full size, and must remain in CMYK color mode.
When designing please make the art a bit bigger than the clipping mask you are designing in.
The shorts panels that this is printed on are not perfect rectangles so if your art is perfect rectangles it may cause for some misalignment when printing.
All non-vector images placed within this file must be embedded (vs. linked), and should be at least 180dpi at full size.
The only element that must remain on the front left leg, is the SLUNKS badge. (It’s a placeholder for the actual embroidered label.)
This file has 3 ARTBOARDS, and multiple LAYERS for various elements. The main layer you’ll be using is ‘ART’.
The color elements you see on the ART layer are ‘Masked’ within their specific shapes.
Simply double click on the color elements and you will enter the isolated ‘clipping group’ where you can place your custom art.
You can change the color of the existing background shapes, or replace with custom patterns, artwork etc.
The 3rd artboard ‘Profile Views’ DO NOT have to be setup. Sometimes those views are helpful when presenting art that crosses over the side seams.
The Pocket: Feel free to move the pocket to the left leg if it benefits your design. And, you can remove the pocket logo, and replace with your own. (The Pocket is on its own layer and currently locked. The stitching for the pocket is on the ‘Stitch/Laces/Rivets’ layer.)
‘Stitch/Laces/Rivets’ Layer:
Feel free to change the color of the stitching and Laces. The pocket rivet is always a polished bronze color.
To change the lace color simply Alt or command click the “Laces” layer and change the fill to the color you would like.
To change the Stitching color simply Alt or command click the “Rivets/Stitches” layer and change the stroke to the color you would like.
